With various natural cycles such as December 21, 2012 marking the end of the 5,125 year great cycle of the ancient Maya long count calendar. The completion of the 26,000 year precession of the equinox’s cycle also known as the "dawning of the age of Aquarius” it is believed that this may mark the beginning of a completely new and different era, and some say it also signifies the end of the 104,000 year cycle. with awareness of these elements and the “end of the world” myth being on the horizon, one cannot help but wonder that with all the damage that the human race is responsible for, could we in turn be destroying our planet to the extent that there will soon be nothing left of it? Could we ultimately cause a degree of apocalypse or a type of Dystopia that is no longer just a fictional fairy tale but something that we may have to adapt our live to?

RANGE, 2011

As time draws closer one cannot help but dwell on the hype created around the world that the Mayans, Egyptians, Nostradamus, have all predicted that a galactic alignment is likely to occur on December 21 2012. Furthermore modern astronomers have confirmed that this is a fact, as well as the book of revelation in the bible also predicting that the “end of the world” will come. In fact Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Taoism have all predicted that a doomsday may occur. The Mayans ultimately believed that 2012 end of the world would essentially be more of a transition phase, pointing to a new period in time. Eventually mankind will have to change and continue to adapt naturally to the world climate. This makes more sense than that of a big bang theory, although we still never know what may or may not occur. What we do know though, is that the world is definitely changing and with change comes inspiration and creation.
